Looking to Create a Website for your Cookie Business?

I can design a website for your cookie business!

For a few years now - I've been holding cookie decorating classes and consultations with people that are ready to start a cookie business.  For several of them one HUGE thing was holding them back....

The online stuff.

They have no idea where to start to build a website.  They have no confidence that they would be able to figure it out.

In this day, every business NEEDS an online presence.  A website and social media are key in a business' success.

I am now offering to build a website for new cookie businesses.  Web designers charge thousands of dollars to create a website.  Not only am I doing it for much less, I KNOW the cookie business.  I know how the site should work - what you need and what you don't.

I'll send you a questionnaire to get started so that I can learn all about you and your expectations for a website.  Then I'll get to work on your site.  Once I have the basics up, we'll have a two-hour video conference where I'll show you how to make future edits on your site.

You can do it!  I'll get you started then teach you how to keep it going.

More info on my website.

Live Online Classes - Cookies as Business

Well hello!  It's been . . . years? . . . since my last post.  I'm still here making cookies for special occasions, and hosting cookie decorating parties and classes.

I'm dusting off the old blog to tell you that I've started something new!  I'm now offering live, online classes on Cookies as Business.

There are tons of videos and tutorials online and plenty of real-life classes about how to decorate cookies.  There aren't a lot of resources on the business side.  That's where I come in!

I taught on this subject at Cookie Con 2015.  Now I've expanded it into several topics so that we can get into the details. Because the classes are held online, you can join me from anywhere!

I've had a successful cookie business since 2013.  I’ve learned a lot since starting my business.  I’ve changed a lot of things too.  I’m ready to share my years of experience with you.  I’m here to teach and encourage you to get you started and to help your business grow!

You can join me online LIVE (not recorded!) at the bakery.  I'll talk to you about a variety of topics.

Business 101 covers how to get started in your cookie business with a commercial kitchen if necessary, what you need to ask your bank and accountant, policies for your website to get you going on the right foot, advice on choosing a business name, and ideas on what items and services you can offer.

Taking and Completing Orders will teach you my method step-by-step so that you never forget an order or leave out a detail when it's time to decorate. Everything will be in one spot to look over and refer to at any time.   I'll send you the two forms that I use for order-taking.

Those are just TWO of the classes I'm offering. Here is the full list for February and March 2018.

* Business 101 - Monday, Feb 19th, 7 - 8:30 pm

Turkey Cookie Puzzle for Thanksgiving

Each month I hold an adult cookie decorating party.  November is coming up so I needed a fresh idea for the Thanksgiving party.

How about a turkey cookie puzzle?!  I decorated three of them.  This one is my favorite.  It includes names of family members and words that sum up Thanksgiving.

Polka dots and marbling adorn this Tom.  He actually got a real face.

This guy is donning stripes and hearts.

Here are the cookies laid out before decorating.

Next step was outlining.

Here is the inspiration for my turkey puzzle.  I saw this clip art and loved it.  It includes "pie" as one of the words.  LOL.  I purchased the clip art, then with Jeff from Truly Mad Plastics, we drew up shapes for the cutters.

There are 10 cutters needed, including just two for the feathers.  My turkeys above included 20 cookies - all minis and smalls.  The final platters measured about 7 1/2" across.  They're not large platters, so I intend to include some extra mini cookies.  Leaves perhaps?
Would you like to decorate your own turkey puzzle?  Come to my cookie party on November 19, 2016 in Middletown, MD or purchase the cutters and make your own!

The cookie cutters for this turkey puzzle are available here at Truly Mad Plastics.

This little drawing might help you figure out how to put the puzzle together.  I numbered my cutters to help remember where everything goes.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cookie Decorating Party - Middletown, MD

The theme for my April Cookie Decorating Party was "April Showers".  Who doesn't love cute rain boots?

As usual, we did a lot of wet-on-wet techniques.  Everyone loves how easy it is and you can't be the results!

What a great group and they did a fantastic job!

Would you like to attend a cookie decorating party?  I hold one open party per month.  Private parties are always an option for your group!
